Alice Sheppard Fidler

Two roof lines that mirror each other and sit on opposite sides of the street come together in a conversation about mass. They can't let go of their zig zag form, their industrial heritage, windows facing north. Cast into shadows, the hard edges bristle against each other, tight, solid, present, and all the time the sun throughout the day has warmed their supporting walls, and for now they are held. But if they pay attention they will learn and quickly, that everything is about to change. Soon they will disappear into their own blackness. But tomorrow, they will come again.’
