A Dozen Eggs – by Llael McDonald

15 March - April 16

Opening drinks 15 March - please RSVP to attend.

Easter welcomes a new artist to Among the Pines, Llael McDonald. Llael is an Australian artist who captures the glory of food, feasting, and the rich colours and atmosphere of gastronomy. The exhibition will exhibit a dozen egg still life paintings, part of an ongoing, and very popular series by McDonald. This is the first time her work has been shown in the UK, and what better place to introduce it than the Berdoulat shop in Bath?  A shop inspired by Patrick and Neri’s  passion for all things food (and wine).

A dozen ceramic eggs made by young British artist Holly English will also be exhibited alongside rounding out a cracking exhibition!

opening drinks november 16th from 6 - 9 pm. please rsvp if you’d like to attend by november 23rd.

Multi-disciplinary British artist Mary Norden has made a substantial impact to British contemporary art, since she started her antique and vintage textile still life and landscape compositions a couple of years ago. Her work is unmatched and distinctive, as her unique fabric compositions fuse texture, time honoured patination of fabric, and a sense of place. Whether they be perspectives that look to the horizon of seasonal landscapes, or contemplative still life that conjure memory of time with family and friends, Mary’s work offers a new perspective, that stirs nostalgic reflection within the onlooker.

NOTTING HILL EXHIBITION

15 - 18 JUNE 2023

Among the Pines will be returning to Kensington Park Road in Notting Hill, London to exhibit the work of four young artists who have recently joined the gallery.

Millicent Straker is a young, London based artist who paints original oils, or carves wood block to create mono or limited edition prints.

Albie Lucas is presently studying at Goldsmiths, living between London for his studies, and the Stroud Valleys, and is the youngest of the four, but already his work is finding itself into some interesting art collections.

Kirsty Lackie is an ex-Glasgow School of Art graduate whose work ”…. is a bag of surrealist storytelling, humour, and often comes with a stink of female experience.”

Chessie Lamb is multi-disciplinary artist, who is primarily a film maker, but counts collage as a hobby, finding it another way to express her endless creativity.

These four represent the bright future of British art, and it’s weird and wonderful narrative. I can’t wait to exhibit their work, and hope you are able to come and view their work too. Drinks Opening Thursday June 15th. If you’d like to attend, please contact the gallery, or subscribe to the Among the Pines newsletter for an invitation. The exhibition runs until 4pm June 18th.
